Stephanie Richards is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been with Lifeworks since 2014. She started her journey as a Master’s level Practicum Student, then graduated and saw clients as an Intern, and is now a fully licensed therapist since 2017. Mrs. Richards attended the University of North Texas and received a BA in Psychology with a minor in Addictions. She then continued her education at Amberton University and graduated with a Masters’ degree in Professional Counseling.
Stephanie has experience working with children ages 12+, adolescents, adults, at-risk youth, families involved with Child Protective Services, and individuals court-ordered for treatment in a community counseling setting. She also has two years’ experience working at an inpatient behavioral health hospital, conducting group and individual therapy. As a counselor, she has worked with clients on issues such as stress/anxiety, depression, bipolar, grief, self-esteem, life transitions, and chemical dependency. She works primarily with women and LGBTQ+ clients, and sees ages 13+ currently. Her passion is helping teenagers, young women, and mothers, as she is working on obtaining her certificate to specialize in Perinatal Mental Health.
Stephanie uses an eclectic approach to counseling, with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Therapy. Her desire is to help individuals better understand themselves and work through life’s issues in a healthy and positive way, to help achieve their goals
