Licensed Professional Counselor

Hello there, thanks for stopping by! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and LPC-Supervisor. I attended Stephen F. Austin State University where I completed my Bachelors in Psychology. I then went on to complete my Masters in Counseling at Amberton University. I am now married, and have two little ones of my own. They are lots of fun, but often push me to practice my own stress management skills. My hobby is my home. I love home decor and finding ways to make my house feel as if I never want to leave it.

Over the last several years I have enjoyed working with children, teens, families, and adults who struggle with negative behavior patterns, family conflict, low self-esteem, depression, and anxiety. I feel now, more than ever, it is my job as a mental health professional to assist our teens in learning to “fit” into the tech world that is unfamiliar to the parents of our teen generation.

I also specialize in assisting expecting couples to prepare for the emotional, physical, and relational changes that come with having a new baby. Although, no matter how much we prepare, when the new baby arrives we often experience a lot of different emotions that are sometimes hard to manage. I can help with that too, whether it be mild anxiety or postpartum depression. Being a mother of two young kids myself, I understand the difficulties that come with the new role. By processing your emotions and the experiences you are having, as well as learning tools to better manage them, my hope is for you to feel more confident as a new mom.

I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), although I like to use an eclectic approach to counseling in order to fit the need of each individual. My hope is to provide a warm and empathetic therapeutic environment to assist individuals in working through life events that are troubling them. Everyone’s therapy looks different, and we can discuss what that looks like for you during your first session. I can provide talk therapy, CBT, assign homework, or offer behavioral challenges for you to try on your own.

As an LPC-Supervisor, my goal is to provide new professionals the knowledge and confidence needed to prepare them for the counseling world.
