How does online therapy work?
Online therapy, or teletherapy, lets you meet from anywhere you're comfortable, eliminating the need to commute. With a private space and reliable internet, sessions are held via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform.
Does LifeWorks offer in-person sessions?
Yes! Face-to-face sessions help therapists observe nonverbal cues, provide a calm, focused environment, and reinforce your commitment to prioritizing mental health.
What are the fees?
LifeWorks charges $165–$200 for the initial session and $150–$175 for ongoing sessions when paying out-of-pocket. We also accept a variety of insurance plans, which can significantly reduce the client’s financial responsibility.
Do you take insurance?
Yes! We accept many insurance plans, including Aetna, Anthem, Baylor Scott & White, BCBS, Centivo, Cigna (Evernorth), Gravie Admin, Humana, Magellan, Medicare, Claritev (MultiPlan), Partners Direct Health, Surest Health Plan, Tricare East and United Health Care (Optum), Wellpoint and more. If your plan isn’t listed, contact us to confirm coverage.
What can I expect during my first appointment?
Your first appointment is an opportunity to connect with your therapist, discuss your goals, and address the challenges that brought you to therapy. The session will include introductions, sharing background information, and scheduling future appointments.
How long should I plan to be in therapy?
The length of therapy depends on your goals and needs. Short-term therapy may last a few months, while long-term therapy can extend to a year or more. Your therapist will assess your progress and adjust as needed, ensuring the duration feels right for you.
Can I schedule appointments online?
Yes! As a current or new LifeWorks client, you have access to our TherapyAppointment portal, where you can schedule, cancel appointments, communicate with office staff, and more.
How often will we meet, and how long are sessions?
Most sessions are 50 minutes. Many clients start with weekly sessions, then shift to every other week as they feel steadier. The right pace depends on your goals, schedule, and what you’re working on—your counselor will help you choose what fits best.
Do you accept Medicare?
Coverage varies by provider and plan. If you have Medicare, please contact our office and we’ll help you confirm whether your sessions may be covered and what your expected out-of-pocket cost could be. If Medicare isn’t a fit, we can also discuss self-pay options.
