Licensed Master Social Worker

I am a Christian, a Licensed Master Social Worker, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Clinical Trauma Specialist, and Animal Assisted Therapy Licensed Counselor. I completed my Master of Social Work in 2010 and my Bachelor’s Degree in 2008 at Texas A&M University Commerce, Texas.
My work focuses on targeting ineffective behaviors and habits. I realize the importance of identifying all aspects of an individual’s life that impacts their well-being including their physical health, their support systems (family, friends), their work and/or school environments including their faith and spiritual beliefs in the therapeutic process. I am passionate and believe in taking a collaborative approach in helping each client reach their goals. I am committed to helping individuals and families build healthier relationships and mindsets. My goal is to provide a safe and confidential environment to assist you in making lasting changes in your life.
My therapeutic approach is holistic: Relaxation/Mindfulness, Crisis Intervention, and Trauma Focused to help clients achieve a quicker healing and lasting recovery. Therapy is the Greek word for change. You may learn things about yourself that you don’t like. Often, growth cannot occur until you experience and confront issues that may induce feelings such as sadness, sorrow, anxiety, discomfort, or pain. The success of our work together depends on the quality and effort you are prepared to give this endeavor. You will be responsible for lifestyle choices and changes that may result from therapy. I consider the importance of the surrounding environments, adversities, and stigmas that clients may face and how this will influence the therapy. I integrate brain and body-based therapies to provide a comprehensive therapeutic approach. My treatments will focus on the impact of symptoms resulting from chemical dependency, self-harm behavior, suicide, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety.
I have had experience working with individuals ages 6+, families, military and service men, homeless with severe mental health issues, at-risk children, and families. I help with crisis intervention, substance abuse, bullying/being bullied, suicide, self-harm behavior, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. I have worked with school districts, truancy court, the incarcerated, group therapy, employee assistance programs, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, nonprofit/profit community mental health, and private facilities.
