Growth Begins with Feeling Understood

Every stage of life brings its own challenges.

A child may struggle to express emotions through words. A teenager may feel overwhelmed by school, friendships, or growing responsibilities. Adults often carry the weight of grief, anxiety, trauma, family changes, or major life transitions while trying to care for everyone else.

Whatever has brought you here, Myrna believes healing begins when you feel understood.

When you have a safe place to share your story, explore your experiences, and know someone is walking beside you, hope begins to grow.

Helping You Grow Through Life’s Changes

Myrna is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, encouragement, and practical support.

She works with clients experiencing ADHD, anxiety, anger, behavioral and school concerns, depression, grief and loss, trauma, self-esteem struggles, neurodivergence, family changes, and other important life transitions. She understands that no two people experience life’s challenges in the same way, which is why every counseling journey is personalized to the individual.

For children, Myrna creates a welcoming environment where emotions can be safely explored through developmentally appropriate approaches that encourage communication, confidence, and emotional growth. She also partners closely with parents to strengthen relationships and support progress beyond the counseling office.

For adolescents and adults, Myrna provides compassionate guidance while helping clients better understand themselves, build resilience, and develop practical tools that create lasting change. As a bilingual counselor, she is proud to provide therapy in both English and Spanish, helping clients communicate in the language where they feel most comfortable expressing themselves.

Her passion is helping every client discover their strengths, embrace hope, and move forward with greater confidence.

Experience & Approach

Myrna earned her Master of Science in Counseling and Development and is committed to helping children, adolescents, and adults build healthier, more fulfilling lives.

She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and Talk Therapy to create a counseling experience tailored to each client’s age, personality, and goals.

Rather than focusing only on problems, Myrna helps clients better understand themselves, strengthen healthy coping skills, process difficult experiences, and build the confidence needed to navigate life’s challenges.

Whether she’s helping a child express emotions through play, supporting a teenager through important life changes, or helping an adult heal from grief or trauma, Myrna creates a counseling experience grounded in compassion, patience, and hope.

She believes every person has unique strengths waiting to be discovered, and she considers it a privilege to help clients recognize those strengths as they move toward healing and growth.

Getting to Know Myrna

Myrna enjoys spending time with her husband, Kyle, and their son, David. They love visiting family in her hometown of Friona, Texas, trying new restaurants, attending local events, bowling, and spending time outdoors together. She’s also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan who enjoys cheering on her team with family and friends.

Those experiences remind Myrna of the importance of connection, encouragement, and spending meaningful time with the people we love. She brings those same values into every counseling relationship, creating a welcoming space where clients of all ages feel respected, supported, and encouraged.

Myrna’s Counseling Philosophy

“Growth begins when we feel understood. With compassion, encouragement, and hope, every person has the ability to heal, grow, and move confidently toward the life they deserve.”
