Frequently asked questions
Who is General Counseling for?
General Counseling is for adults, teens, and older adolescents who want support with everyday stressors and deeper emotional challenges. It can help if you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, down, burned out, or going through a transition (work, relationships, grief, identity, parenting, or major life changes). You don’t need a “big reason” to start—many clients use counseling to build coping tools, improve self-understanding, and feel more grounded and confident.
Do you offer in-person and virtual (online) counseling?
Yes. We offer both in-person counseling in North Dallas and virtual sessions for clients across Texas. Online counseling can be a great fit if you prefer meeting from home, have a busy schedule, or live outside the immediate area. In-person sessions may feel best if you want a dedicated space away from daily distractions. If you’re unsure which option is right, we’ll help you choose based on your needs and comfort.
How often will we meet, and how long does counseling usually take?
Most sessions are about 50 minutes. Many clients start with weekly sessions, then move to every other week as they feel steadier. Length of counseling depends on your goals: some people come short-term (8–12 sessions) for a specific issue, while others choose longer-term support to work through patterns, relationships, and deeper emotional concerns. We’ll check in on progress regularly to keep therapy practical and aligned with your needs.
Do you take insurance?
Yes! We accept many insurance plans, including Aetna, Anthem, Baylor Scott & White, BCBS, Centivo, Cigna (Evernorth), Gravie Admin, Humana, Magellan, Medicare, Claritev (MultiPlan), Partners Direct Health, Surest Health Plan, Tricare East and United Health Care (Optum), Wellpoint and more. If your plan isn’t listed, contact us to confirm coverage.
